WHAT WE BELIEVE
The Bible
The Bible is God’s trustworthy Word and the decisive authority in our lives.
Jesus
Jesus Christ is both true God and true man. He lived a sinless life and bore God’s punishment for the sin of mankind in its place on the cross. On the third day, He was raised from the dead. Through His sacrificial death and resurrection, He secured forgiveness of all sins and eternal life for those who believe in Him.
Baptism & Communion
Water baptism by immersion symbolizes the Christian’s identification with the death and resurrection of Jesus. With the Lord’s Supper we commemorate our salvation through the death of Jesus.
Marriage & Family
God has ordained the family as the fundamental institution of human society and placed it under His special protection and blessing. Marriage is a lifelong covenant relationship between a man and a woman.
Future
Jesus Christ will come again to earth to judge all people righteously as sovereign ruler and to build His eternal kingdom visibly for the joy of believers.
God
The one true God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit – these are one God: equal in character, power and glory.
Salvation
God created man in the image of God, entirely good and without sin. As a consequence of the disobedience of Adam, the first man, all his descendants are born with a sinful nature, which is manifested by actual, self-inflicted transgression of God’s law and morality.
Salvation to eternal life is by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone. This saving grace of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, calls and enables the believer to live a life pleasing to God.
Spiritual Gifts
We believe that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit as described in the New Testament can be effective today. As a result, the church is strengthened to fulfill its calling and it becomes visible that the Kingdom of God has dawned.
